Find answers to common questions about booking, publishing, and riding.

How do I book a bike ride? â–¼

Booking a bike ride on VELO is simple and fast.

Start by entering your departure and destination locations on the search page. Choose your travel date and preferred time, and you’ll see a list of available rides published by riders traveling on that route.

Each ride shows important details such as:

  • Price per seat
  • Rider profile and experience
  • Route and timing
  • Whether the rider can carry parcels

Select the ride that best suits your needs and click Book Now. Once your booking request is accepted (or instantly confirmed, if enabled), you’re all set to ride.

How do I publish a bike ride? â–¼

Publishing a bike ride on VELO takes just a few minutes.

Click on Publish a Ride, then enter your starting point, destination, date. You can set a price using our recommended pricing range or adjust it as you prefer.

You can also:

  • Choose whether booking requires your approval
  • Indicate if you can carry small parcels or documents
  • Publish one-time or recurring rides

Once published, your ride becomes visible to people searching along your route.

How does pricing work on VELO? â–¼

VELO uses a distance-based recommended pricing system to keep rides affordable for passengers and worthwhile for riders.

When you publish a ride, we suggest a price range based on the travel distance. You are free to:

  • Accept the recommended price
  • Increase or decrease it within reasonable limits

This ensures fair pricing while preventing overcharging.

Why are VELO rides cheaper than bike taxis or cabs? â–¼

VELO is a ride-sharing platform, not a traditional taxi service. Riders are already traveling on the route and share the cost of their journey instead of making a profit like taxis or delivery companies.

This means:

  • Lower prices for passengers
  • Extra savings or earnings for riders
  • Reduced fuel usage and traffic

It’s a win for everyone.

Can I send a parcel using VELO? â–¼

Yes. VELO allows riders to optionally carry small parcels or documents along their route.

When searching for a ride, you’ll see rides marked as: Can carry parcels.

Parcel delivery is ideal for items like documents, IDs, keys, or small packages that are easy to carry.

What kind of parcels are allowed? â–¼

Only lightweight, non-illegal, non-hazardous items are allowed.

Examples include:

  • Documents
  • Small boxes
  • IDs, envelopes, or personal items

Items not allowed:

  • Illegal goods
  • Fragile valuables
  • Large or heavy packages
  • Food or liquids

The rider always has the final decision on what they are comfortable carrying.

Is VELO safe to use? â–¼

Safety is a top priority at VELO. We encourage:

  • Complete rider profiles with photos
  • Transparent ride details
  • In-app communication before booking

We also actively work to prevent scams and misuse of the platform.

How does VELO help protect users from scams? â–¼

VELO promotes transparency and responsible usage. We advise users to:

  • Communicate clearly through the platform
  • Avoid sharing sensitive information unnecessarily
  • Confirm ride and parcel details before travel

Suspicious activity can be reported, and repeat offenders may be restricted or removed.

Can I choose my route as a rider? â–¼

Yes. Riders can select or confirm the route they plan to take between departure and arrival. This helps passengers understand whether the ride suits their needs and allows better matching along nearby areas.

What if my starting or ending location is slightly off-route? â–¼

VELO is designed to be flexible. Rides that start or end within nearby areas (for example, within a few kilometers) may still appear in your search results, making it easier to find a match even if locations aren’t exact.

Do I need to accept every booking request? â–¼

No. If you enable approval required, you can review each booking request and decide whether to accept or decline it. Some rides may also allow instant booking, where approval is automatic.

Can I cancel a booking or ride? â–¼

Yes, but we encourage responsible usage.

  • Riders should cancel only when necessary
  • Passengers should avoid last-minute cancellations

Frequent cancellations may affect account trust and visibility.

Do I need to verify my identity to use VELO? â–¼

Basic usage is available without full verification, but adding identity details helps build trust. In the future, additional verification options may be introduced to improve safety and reliability across the platform.

Is VELO available only for bikes? â–¼

VELO currently focuses on two-wheeler ride sharing and lightweight parcel delivery. Our goal is to make short and medium-distance travel more affordable, efficient, and sustainable.

How do ratings and profiles work? â–¼

Profiles show: User name and photo, Number of trips completed, and Ratings (where available). This helps users make informed decisions before booking.
